Aviation Heritage UK is delighted to have worked with Airbus to make significant donations to support three major aviation museums – Aerospace Bristol, Brooklands Museum and the Royal Air Force Museum. In the first stage of the initial three-year deal between Airbus and AHUK, Aerospace Bristol received £12,100, and the other two museums £8,100 each. In addition to these donations, some of the Airbus funding is being used to improve the service that AHUK is able to offer to its members.
Allan Winn, Chairman of AHUK, says: “Museums perform a vital role in preserving and celebrating the nation’s aviation heritage, and using that heritage to inspire future generations to embrace science and technology. Aviation Heritage UK, as the representative body for the sector, is delighted to be working with Airbus to provide this valuable support to these British museums and to the work of AHUK itself. We hope that this initiative from Airbus will encourage others in the industry to add their own support to our under-funded sector and its work in the community.”
